At Barefoot College Latin America, we are grateful for the local, regional and international partnerships we have built since the launch of our regional training centre in 2022. As a grassroots organisation embedded in the Maya Ixil Region of Guatemala, we are committed to strengthening our networks, starting from community leaders and local authorities. We are also collaborating with other non-profit organisations in Guatemala working towards environmental and gender justice, such as the Asociación Chajulense, New Sun Road, NRECA International, Asociación CDRO, el Insituto Mesoamericano de Permacultura and Tierra Verde.

Our strategic partner, the World Food Programme, has supported us with community outreach, logistics and projects and we are delighted to continue developing our long-term partnership.

We are contributing our expertise on rural solar energy programmes to the Guatemalan Ministry of Energy’s National Coalition for Rural Electrification and deepening our collaboration with the Planning and Gender Units.

We thank the generous contributions of our supporters and partners - together, we are enabling rural women to become solar engineers and transform their last-mile, off-grid rural communities, strengthening social, environmental, gender and economic resilience where it is needed most.
